Using Attributes When Listing an Item

Using attributes on your listings provide you with distinct and organised characteristics to better describe your items. Attributes also help buyers find your items more easily in search results.
To list an item in your Osbisy shop:
  1. On Osbisy.com, click the Your Account, then click Go to Vendor Dashboard. 
  2. Click Products. If you’re a new seller, click Your shop.
  3. Click Add new product. 

Before you can start listing items, you must register as a seller. Review our Seller Policy to make sure your items fit into Osbisy’s handmade, digital, goods list, or craft supply categories.

Listing an item with categories and attributes

You’ll first have to choose the kind of item you’re listing (handmade, goods, or craft supply) and its categories. You’ll then see the option to add attributes.

The category and subcategories you choose for your items will determine the number and kind of available attributes.

Since attributes are based on individual item categories, you’ll see that some categories have more options available that are relevant to that item category. Others categories will have broader and more general attributes.

Some general attributes available for most listings:

  1. Primary colour
  2. Additional colour
  3. Occasion
 
 

Using attributes

Try to use the most relevant attributes available to you in each drop-down. Include a combination of attributes and listing tags to make sure potential buyers find and see your items on Osbisy.

A quick example:

You’re listing a handmade, lemon-coloured scarf. However, the colour “lemon” isn’t a selectable attribute.

  1. Choose the colour that you think would be the closest to lemon. You can select “Yellow” as your Primary colour attribute.

  2. If you find that your unique colour label is an important search term as well, you should still add “lemon scarf” as a listing tag for your item.

Updating your items with attributes

To update the attributes of your items, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Go to Vendor Dashboard. 
  2. Click Products and select your listing product and click Edit.
  3. Scroll down to Attribute and Variation
  4. Choose the attributes for that listing in the Listing details section.
  5. Click Save Attribute.
  6. Click Save Product when finished.

Attributes and Osbisy search

Attributes are separate from item tags but work with them. Together they’ll provide buyers with the relevant and important information they’re looking for when shopping on Osbisy.

Item features like colour, size, and even occasion will be easily found and will appear in additional, relevant, and specific searches on Osbisy.

Like keywords in item titles and tags, attributes do factor into where items are placed in search results on Osbisy.
